Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon 2019
Last week we celebrated our Carnegie volunteers with our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. This is a time to celebrate those who so unselfishly give their time throughout the year.
After an introduction of staff, Susan Crutchfield, the Carnegie Director, discussed how essential our volunteers are to the Carnegie serving the community. A buffet lunch was served along with time for socializing and reminiscing of the past year.
Last year, our volunteers gave 592 hours of their time to the Carnegie. Some have been volunteering for years and others this is their first time. Volunteers lead programs, shelve books, help with special projects and events, and assist with programming. We can't forget our Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation members who fund our summer children's programs, provide books at the Munchkin Masquerade, and host several author events throughout the year.
We honored all of our volunteers with a token of thanks but gave special recognition to three people who volunteered the most hours during 2019.
