This Week at the Carnegie: Nov. 18-22


We had a wonderful time at the Holiday Sip & See! Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and came out for the event! Don’t forget – the city store is open whenever the Carnegie is. So don’t forget about us for holiday gifts! We have a week of wonderful, fall programming planned along with our usual favorites. We hope you will stop by for a program or to grab a book to cozy up with in the chilly weather. Please note: the building will be closed from 11:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Monday

Exercise is Medicine: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

EIM is a circuit cardio alternating safe and easy to follow low-impact aerobics with strength conditioning. Elastic tubing with handles is used for resistance training and core strengthening. The Exercise is Medicine (EIM) program includes “move and learn” activity designed to offer those of all ages with chronic diseases the cardio-strength-flexibility and balance training needed to safely improve chronic health condition symptoms. Certified instructors from Piedmont Newnan Wellness Center provide forty-five minutes of gentle therapeutic exercises. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. All equipment provided.

Crochet at the Carnegie: 2:00 p.m. to 4: 00 p.m.

This class is designed for beginners as well as more advanced. If you want to learn the basics and make a lap robe. Bring one crochet hook - size “h” - and one 7 ounce skein of “Red Heart” yarn. This class is for all levels of skill. Instructor, Judy Davenport, teaches the basics and will guide through any trouble spots. For experienced knitters, please bring your current crochet project

Tuesday

Fall Cooking with Chef Carlin: 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Join us for a hands on cooking class with Chef Carlin. She will provide easy entertaining ideas and help you prepare dishes perfect to celebrate the harvest season! Chef Carlin is the owner of Chef Carlin Personal Chef Service. She is a Certified Personal Chef and a member of The International Association of Culinary Professionals. She has been recognized by The White House as a Champion of Change. She is certified in food safety through the ServSafe program.

Wednesday

Please join the Carnegie for Gentle Yoga with Yvette! Instructor, Yvette Monet will guide adults & seniors at all levels of physical ability in stretch & strengthen muscles exercises. Gain flexibility & balance and relieve stress. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. All equipment provided or bring your own mat.

Thursday

Beading with Elizabeth: 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Join us and learn how to make this beautiful holly bracelet, perfect for the upcoming holiday season! All materials provided. While the program is free, space is limited. Join us for sweet treats while learning to create this floral painted collage on canvas! Local artist, TL Brooks will lead this hands on, mixed media class. Participants can customize the colors to match their decor. All supplies included. While the program is free, registration is required and limited. This program is full.
