This Week at the Carnegie: Nov. 25-29


It’s the week of Thanksgiving! As the holiday season begins, don’t forget to check out the wonderful programs we have going on at the Carnegie. We are so thankful for all of our patrons this week and every week. You are the reason we do what we do. Check back on Wednesday for our special Thanksgiving edition of our blog!

All programs at the Carnegie are open to the public and free of charge. The Carnegie will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday and Friday, November 28th and 29th.

Monday

Literary Circle: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The Carnegie Library hosts Carnegie Literary Circle, our morning book club. This month's book is "So Big" by Edna Ferber. Reservations are requested. Exercise is Medicine: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

EIM is a circuit cardio alternating safe and easy to follow low-impact aerobics with strength conditioning. Elastic tubing with handles is used for resistance training and core strengthening. The Exercise is Medicine (EIM) program includes “move and learn” activity designed to offer those of all ages with chronic diseases the cardio-strength-flexibility and balance training needed to safely improve chronic health condition symptoms. Certified instructors from Piedmont Newnan Wellness Center provide forty-five minutes of gentle therapeutic exercises. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. All equipment provided.

Crochet at the Carnegie: 2:00 p.m. to 4: 00 p.m.

This class is designed for beginners as well as more advanced. If you want to learn the basics and make a lap robe. Bring one crochet hook - size “h” - and one 7 ounce skein of “Red Heart” yarn. This class is for all levels of skill. Instructor, Judy Davenport, teaches the basics and will guide through any trouble spots. For experienced knitters, please bring your current crochet project

Tuesday

Family Yoga: 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Family Yoga is a perfect time for the entire family to come together and help one another connect on a deeper level. This yoga class will be fun and relaxing. We will be practicing techniques and postures that includes everyone as well as individualized yoga postures. Family Yoga is a great way to remember the “community” aspect of your family and to reflect on how each family member, big or small, are each equally important in their own unique way. This class is taught by Rachel Murell from Sea Glass Therapy. Please bring a mat or towel. This program is for families only. As the Page Turns: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Carnegie Library presents As the Page Turns, our afternoon book club. This month we will be reading "Lilac Girls" by Martha Hall Kelly. Reservations requested. There will not be Gentle Yoga with Yvette on Wednesday, November 27th. Gentle Yoga will resume on Wednesday, December 4th.
