This Week at the Carnegie: March 4-10

This week we have so many great events and programs at the Carnegie. Please call 770-683-1347 to register for these programs in advance. Remember all programs at the Carnegie Library are open to the public and free of charge.

 

 

Monday

 

Exercise is Medicine 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. EIM is a circuit cardio alternating safe and easy to follow low-impact aerobics with strength conditioning. Elastic tubing with handles is used for resistance training and core strengthening. The Exercise is Medicine (EIM) program includes “move and learn” activity designed to offer those of all ages with chronic diseases the cardio-strength-flexibility and balance training needed to safely improve chronic health condition symptoms.

 

 

 

Crochet 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. -- This class is designed for beginners as well as more advanced. If you want to learn the basics and make a lap robe then bring one crochet hook - size “h” - and one 7 ounce skein of “Red Heart” yarn. For all levels of skill. Instructor, Judy Davenport, teaches the basics and will guide through any trouble spots.
For experienced, please bring your current crochet project.

 

Tuesday

 

Health, Happiness, Harmony: “Us and Them” 6:00-7:00 p.m. Join the Carnegie Library for the next installment of the Health Happiness and Harmony series: Us and Them. Come find out which side you're on! Discover the new neurological findings behind our habit of choosing teams. What effect does creating an "Us and Them" have on our health, happiness and harmony? Join community psychologist, Dr. Ric Chambers as he discusses this fascinating topic. Wednesday

Gentle Yoga 1:30 pm to 2:30 p.m. This class is designed for adults & seniors of all levels of physical ability. Instructor, Yvette Monet, guides in stretching & strengthening muscles. Helps you to gain flexibility & balance and relieve stress.

 

Thursday

 

Preschool Story Time 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A fun time of  singing, dancing, reading, crafting, and learning! There’s always a little silliness too. Crafting Paper Flowers: Spring Hydrangeas 2:30-4:00 p.m. Join the Carnegie Library for Crafting Paper Flowers. We will be making beautiful hydrangeas. Cultivate Growth Leadership Series 3:00-4:30 p.m. Oasis of Serenity Counseling and Consulting Services is offering the CULTIVATE Growth Leadership Series to share valuable principles that are certain to bring about growth. These facilitated series of training offer a combination of masterminding, peer brainstorming, education, accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills. By bringing fresh ideas and a different perspective, these series of personal and leadership development training can help you achieve your uniquely defined success.
