Children’s Programs

The Children’s Department at the Newnan Carnegie Library encompasses many different aspects geared towards the literacy of younger readers from birth through middle grades. This includes self-led activities in our children’s room such as reading books, activities on computers, or playing games or puzzles. Many of these activities and books have been generously donated by patrons of the library or by our Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation. Other activities are planned throughout the year by the Program Associate. Many of these programs are possible because of the many partnerships with civic groups in the community. The goal of the Children’s Department is not to just increase literacy among the children of the community, but to also build lasting relationships with the community as a whole. We are always looking to expand our offerings to our patrons with new programming. Those interested in leading a program at the Carnegie should fill out the application by clicking here. To see our current programming please visit our calendar page. To register for a program please visit Eventbrite. For more information on our children's department please contact Teri Anderson at tanderson@newnanga.gov.

Summer Programs

With the support of a grant from the Newnan Kiwanis Club, the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation brings a variety of children’s programs to the Carnegie every summer. In the past, we have hosted magicians, puppet makers, storytellers, a petting zoo, a professional chef, literacy programs, and circus fun.
